Important note: Almost all plugin hosts are actually 32 bit hosts, even if it run on a 64 bit OS. See compatibility below for 64 bit hosts.

Installation (Windows)

  1. Download the 8bf file
  2. Move the file to the plug-ins directory. There are two options:
    • A.- If your image editor has a folder for the plug-ins, like Photoshop
      Move the plugin to the plugins folder of your image editor. For instance:
      • Photoshop CS6 : /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Plug-ins/
      • Photoshop CC : /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC/Plug-ins/
      • Photoshop CC 2014 : /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2014/Plug-ins/
      • Photoshop Elements 10: /Applications/Support Files/Plug-ins/Filters/
    • B.- If your image editor doesn't have a folder for plug-ins, like Photoline
      Move the plugin to the directory of your choice and configure your image editor to look for plugins in this directory.

If you have version 2.45 or previous installed, remove the XiQuantizer.8bf file from where you put it

On some programs like XnView or IrfanView, the application don't send selections(masks) to the plugin.

If you test it on other applications and/or versions, please let us know if it works.

Installation (Mac OS X)

The plugins are distributed as dmg files which contain the plugin.

  1. Download the dmg file
  2. Mount the .dmg file, double clicking it. You will see the plugin inside.
  3. Copy the plugin to your disk. There are two options:
    • A.- If your image editor has a folder for the plug-ins, like Photoshop
      Copy the plugin to the plugins folder of your image editor. For instance:
      • Photoshop CS6 : /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Plug-ins/
      • Photoshop CC : /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC/Plug-ins/
      • Photoshop CC 2014 : /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2014/Plug-ins/
    • B.- If your image editor doesn't have a folder for plug-ins, like Photoline
      Copy the plugin to the directory of your choice, like f.i. /Applications/Plugins, and configure your image editor to look for plugins in this directory. You need to create the directory first if it doesn't exists.
  4. Eject the dmg file

This plug-ins requires Mac OSX (Intel) and a Photoshop compatible plug-in host.

It is known to work with following Photoshop plug-in hosts:
